category:Reports and InsightsRelease time:2025-05-13
1. Scope
ISO 14064-1 is an international standard published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventories, providing organizations with a systematic framework to quantify and report their GHG emissions. This standard focuses on organization-level GHG accounting, serving as a vital tool for achieving sustainable development and addressing climate change.
ISO 14064-1 outlines the steps for GHG emissions accounting, including data collection, calculation methods, selection of emission factors, and uncertainty assessment. These steps enable various organizations—whether businesses, government agencies, or NGOs—to accurately and transparently report their GHG emissions.
The standard offers a flexible framework suitable for organizations of all sizes and industries, from multinational corporations to small enterprises. By adopting ISO 14064-1, organizations can enhance the transparency and credibility of their GHG management, strengthening stakeholder trust. Additionally, through effective emissions management, organizations can identify energy-saving and emission-reduction opportunities, reducing operational costs and environmental impact.
Lianhe Green provides ISO 14064-1 GHG emissions verification services, helping organizations demonstrate their commitment to GHG emissions management and supporting their sustainability efforts in combating climate change. Our goal is to encourage businesses and organizations to proactively determine their GHG emissions and ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of their GHG-related data through independent verification.

3. Verification Process

Note: According to ISO 14065, when citing a Lianhe Green verification (or using the Lianhe Green verification logo), it must be relevant to the verified claim and not mislead the public into believing the product has been certified. Furthermore, when using this description (or verification logo), it must be traceable to the verification opinion issued by Lianhe Green. Any public comments or reports regarding verification results issued by the Client must be fully communicated (meaning, without deletions or modifications to the core content) in both external and internal communications.
Acceptable examples of citing a Lianhe Green verification opinion:
Long form: "In its verification opinion dated 20xx-xx-xx, Lianhe Green concluded with a reasonable level of assurance that the data and information in our GHG statement are fairly stated/Lianhe Green found no evidence that the data and information in our GHG statement are not fairly stated."
Short form*: "Verified by Lianhe Green with a reasonable level of assurance/limited level of assurance"
*Any use of the short form reference must include or be linked to the long form reference. "Includes" means providing the long-form citation adjacent to the short-form citation in the same medium; "linked to" means providing a location in another medium (e.g., a website) that references the long-form citation adjacent to the short-form citation.
